Mainly because it leads to penalties throughout the year, very counterproductive.<BR/><BR/>If calls were made every time something happened, with the efficiency of a computer, players would just stop doing things that get called over time. The game would open up and be free-flowing.<BR/><BR/>Don Cherry and his minions love a game with no calls now, and it seems they have the patience of a dehydrated gnat as they criticise every game where penalties are called to the letter.<BR/><BR/>Let the players decide is the biggest delusion they call out. What they mean is let the players cheat (as you said above)...<BR/><BR/>That being said, I'm with you, if everyone else is cheating, we should too.
